Police Text Messages

There’s a tool at the Santa Maria Police Department that sends 911 callers a text message after they complete their 911 phone call requesting service.

The reporting party will receive a message about five minutes later to indicate that the call was received and a Police Officer will respond. In the event of a delayed response, the caller will receive a second text informing them the officer has been delayed.

After the officer arrives and completes the report, the caller will later receive a final text message with additional information and links to victim services. The texts are in English and Spanish.
