The Santa Maria Police Department has begun using Motorola's cutting-edge Premier One Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) and Record Management System (RMS) for more efficiency within our emergency services. These advanced systems let public safety dispatchers quickly receive, process, and dispatch calls–instantly relaying vital information to first responders like police officers, firefighters, and ambulances.
The system generates a comprehensive report as soon as a caller contacts the Dispatch Center, seamlessly transitioning to the RMS system to process call details. In 2022 alone, the City's communication center received 211,051 phone calls (averaging 578 calls per day), with nearly 59,000 classified as emergencies and answered within an impressive average of 3.9 seconds by our dedicated dispatchers. It’s clear that this system expedites report filing and completion for first responders, saving valuable time and contributing to a safer Santa Maria.
